"Hello Darling," meditates on the rekindling of a friendship between Kim, a sculptor living in a countryside home she inherited from her grandmother, and Sandrine, a city bound disillusioned advertising executive. Triggered by an invitation to their high school reunion Kim heads out of her lonely oasis to see her old friend.
Kim and Sandrine reunite in their childhood hometown at the Windsor/Detroit (CAN/USA) border. They reminisce about their past dreams as they tour through their hang outs. Kim came to see her friend and Sandrine is convinced she needs a wingman for the reunion.
The women share memories and laughter as the drink, shop, and seek adventure. Sandrine's revelation about her mother's death adds complexity, unearthing buried emotions and truths that makes Kim lose trust in Sandrine’s friendship.
Before the reunion, a carnival reignites their bond but tensions peak during a heated exchange. Kim confronts Sandrine's resistance to vulnerability, leading to Sandrine’s big ask. On Kim’s refusal Sandrine storms out leaving Kim in tears.
Back at home, Kim returns to her habit of saving Sandrine. But this time she’s leveraging her house to do it. Kim goes back to Windsor to share with Sandrine what she’s done for her. But once Kim sees Sandrine, she makes a split decision for the first time in her life.
